Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
The Provide CPR course focuses on the management of a patient who is unresponsive and not breathing. It covers the fundamentals of quality CPR, the application of an automated external defibrillator and highlights the importance of early hands-on chests to ensure the best outcomes for our patients. The CPR course acts as a yearly refresher for those who are required to maintain currency as a first aider in their workplace. Please note, we only deliver private group courses and as such cannot accommodate individuals.

Delivery Modes
- Face-To-Face Workshop: No pre-course work is required for this delivery mode; students will gain all theory and practical knowledge face-to-face.
- Blended Delivery: Incorporates pre-course theory work to be completed by the participants. This provides a foundation prior to the face-to-face session to allow for greater comprehension of first aid concepts. It also reduces the duration of the face-to-face session.
- Online Express: Designed for groups unable to commit to a full day course. The majority of this course is theory work online followed by a short face-to-face session.
Duration
- Face-To-Face Workshop: 3.5 hours face-to-face. No pre-course work required.
- Blended Delivery: 30 minutes of pre-course work followed by 2-3 hours face-to-face.
- Online Express: 1.5 hours pre-course work followed by 1.5 hours face-to-face.
Certification
The following units will be included in your certificate:
HLTAID009 - Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
This certificate has an industry recommended renewal period of 12 months.

Assessment Activities
Performance tasks and practical scenarios:
- Perform CPR on an adult (incl. the use of an AED and placing a casualty into the recovery position)
- Perform CPR on an infant
Theory assessment: A written assessment consisting of multiple-choice questions.
Your team will learn how to:
- Understand ARC guidelines for managing an injured person and CPR.
- Identify incident hazards and minimise risks.
- Follow infection control procedures.
- Know the requirements for skill currency and first aid codes.
- Understand legal and workplace considerations, including duty of care.
- Recognise the need for stress management for first aiders.
- Know CPR techniques for adults, children, and infants.
- Understand basic anatomy and physiology relevant to CPR.
Entry Requirements
Participants must have the physical capacity to perform the practical demonstrations, such as 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on the floor and rescue breathing techniques on manikins.
Online study: Students must have access to a computer, smartphone, tablet or other electronic devices with access to the internet to complete the online/ pre-course studies.

Is this course nationally accredited?
Yes it is. Our certificates are issued by our partner Allens Training.
Is there a minimum or maximum number of students per course?
The minimum number of students required for the course is 7 and the maximum is 20.
Do you offer any classes for individuals?
At this time we exclusively deliver private group training and as such cannot accomodate courses for individuals.
Where are the courses held?
We can come to your home or workplace and bring all required equipment, including a projector and props for the simulations.
Which areas do you service?
We cover Sydney, Wollongong and the Central Coast. Courses in Wollongong and the Central Coast will incur a travel fee of $160.
How do I enrol all the course participants if I am booking the course?
The organiser of the training will receive an email to foreword to all attending students. Students will then be able to enrol themselves and complete the pre-course work.
Who should attend Provide CPR?
Every workplace should have someone trained in first aid to act in the event of an emergency within the workplace, but first aid training is for everyone! Parents, caregivers, students and community members should consider learning to provide first aid. Whatever community or group you belong to, first aid training can prepare you to respond to medical emergencies and potentially save a life before professional medical help arrives.
How should I prepare for my Provide CPR course?
We offer on-site training for your team in various skills, such as CPR, AED usage, injury treatment, medical emergency management and more. We suggest that you come prepared for the course by wearing comfortable clothing that is suitable for hands-on exercises.
