Childcare First aid training is an essential component of any education and care setting. Whether you are a teacher, caregiver, or administrator, having the knowledge and skills to respond to medical emergencies can make a significant difference in saving lives and reducing further harm.   • Chest and abdominal injures
  • Facial and eye injuries
  • First aid procedures for bleeding, burns and fractures

course price is

$165 per person

  1. Face-To-Face Workshop: No pre-course work is required for this delivery mode; students will gain all theory and practical knowledge face-to-face.
  2. Blended Delivery: Incorporates pre-course theory work to be completed by the participants. This provides a foundation prior to the face-to-face session to allow for greater comprehension of first aid concepts. It also reduces the duration of the face-to-face session.
  3. Online Express: Designed for groups unable to commit to a full day course. The majority of this course is theory work online followed by a short face-to-face session.
  1. Face-To-Face Workshop: 9 hours face-to-face. No pre-course work required.
  2. Blended Delivery: 2 hours of pre-course work followed by 6-7 hours face-to-face.
  3. Online Express: 6 hours online theory followed by 2 hours face-to-face.

This certificate has an industry recommended renewal period of 36 months.

Performance tasks and practical scenarios:

  • Perform CPR on an adult (incl. the use of an AED and placing a casualty into the recovery position)
  • Complete a first aid incident report form based on the simulated first aid scenario
  • Perform CPR on a child
  • Perform CPR on an infant
  • Manage a child casualty with anaphylaxis
  • Manage a child casualty with asthma
  • Manage a choking child and infant casualty
  • Manage a child casualty with non-life-threatening bleeding and shock, requiring minor wound cleaning
  • Manage a child casualty with a nosebleed
  • Manage a child casualty with a fracture and dislocation
  • Manage a child casualty with a sprain and strain
  • Manage a child casualty with envenomation (snake/ funnel-web spider bite)

Theory assessment: A written assessment consisting of multiple-choice questions. 

Participants must have the physical capacity to perform the practical demonstrations, such as 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on the floor and rescue breathing techniques on manikins.

 

Online study:  Students must have access to a computer, smartphone, tablet or other electronic devices with access to the internet to complete the online/ pre-course studies.

Our course prepares you for various first aid emergencies while caring for children. You can anticipate learning all the basic first aid techniques, as well as in-depth instruction in the following critical skills:

  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation — Learn the life-saving techniques of CPR for children. This topic will cover the depth and rate of chest compressions and the correct number of rescue breaths, which vary when dealing with children.
  • Managing asthma emergencies — Asthma is a common condition among children. Our childcare first aid training teaches you how to manage asthma-related emergencies properly.
  • Handling anaphylaxis episodes — We provide comprehensive guidance on managing severe allergic reactions, including administering epinephrine and ensuring the child’s safety until professional intervention.

The minimum number of students required for the course is 7 and the maximum is 20.

At this time we exclusively deliver private group training and as such cannot accomodate courses for individuals.

We can come to your home or workplace and bring all required equipment, including a projector and props for the simulations. 

If you work with children, you may be required to undergo childcare first aid training. These professions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Early childhood educators
  • Nannies, babysitters, daycare workers and other childcare providers
  • Camp counsellors, youth and community leaders
  • Sports coaches and recreation instructors

The organiser of the training will receive an email to foreword to all attending students. Students will then be able to enrol themselves and complete the pre-course work.

Yes we do! Our 'Face-to-Face' and 'Face-to-Face Refresher' delivery modes have no pre-course work involved.
