The Importance of First Aid Training in Construction

Construction workers face life-threatening risks due to heavy machinery, falling hazards, and exposure to hazardous materials. In 2023, 23% of all fatalities in Australian workplaces occurred in the construction industry.
To keep constructions safe while at work, SafeWork NSW requires all worksites to have at least one nominated workplace first aider with a valid first aid accreditation. It is best practice for all construction workers to have the right first aid skills and knowledge to act during a worksite accident.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the maximum group size for onsite first aid training?
Our construction first aid training can be booked for a maximum of 20 participants, with a minimum of 7 participants for each booking. This group size limit ensures that every participant has ample opportunity to engage in practical training for accreditation.
How soon can participants receive first aid accreditation after the course?
Each participant will receive a Statement of Attainment within 24 hours of completing the course. The Statement of Attainment will be sent to the registered email of each participant, and will be valid for a period of 3 years (12 months for Provide CPR).
How long will the construction first aid course take to complete?
Our first aid course for construction workers will require a full day of training, about 7-8 hours, with breaks in between. We recommend setting the day aside for the team to focus on getting the most out of the training.
