HLTAID009 – CPR

This first aid course will also educate individuals on the legal aspects of first aid and the best course of action to take when responding to emergencies.
HLTAID011 – First Aid
The HLTAID011 course teaches attendees to respond to and handle common medical emergencies like burns, allergies, choking, and heart attacks. Through an HLTAID011 course, individuals learn CPR, how to use a defibrillator (AED), what to do in the event of an allergic reaction, an asthmatic attack, a stroke, an unconscious casualty, or a seizure. Individuals will also learn how to manage wounds and bleeding, fractures, sprains, infections, hypothermia, and other injuries.
HLTAID012 – First Aid for Childcare Centres
Teachers, early educators, caregivers, and administrators must complete the HLTAID012 course to ensure they have the necessary skills to respond appropriately to a medical emergency in an education or care setting. Through a first aid for childcare centre course, educators and carers are taught age-appropriate CPR techniques and how to respond to allergic reactions, asthma attacks, seizures, and other medical conditions. Attendees learn how to manage infections and injuries, as well as their legal responsibilities as a first aider.
How much does first aid training cost?
First Aid training in Australia can cost between $80 and $165 – depending on the specific first aid course taken, the duration of the course, whether it’s online or in-person, group or individual training, and the provider.
Average costs for each course include:
- HLTAID009 Course: Standalone CPR training courses can cost between $45 and $85. Upon completing this course, individuals receive a certificate for CPR, which typically has a 12-month renewal period. Discounts may be offered for group settings.
- HLTAID011 Course: The general first aid course generally costs between $85 and $345. The wide range in price is primarily due to the provider chosen, the duration of the course, and whether completed individually or within a group setting. The certification for this course has a 36-month renewal period.
- HLTAID012 Course: The average cost for a first aid course for childcare centres is between $99 and $245. As this is a specialised course, the price is generally higher than other first aid training courses; however, discounts may be offered if completed within a group setting. The certificate for completing a HLTAID012 course is valid for 36 months.
